The terrain is intense, large, and well developed for airsoft scale combat.
Turnout was lower than expected but we made due. IIRC it was about 9-12 tan players depending on the time of day against about 20-25 green. I could be wrong but I do recall going out after lunch with only 7 rifles including myself.
In the morning we were tasked with escorting a land rover across the river and through the woods. IROPS took recon and moved forward of the convoy looking for opfor. We crossed easily enough, but I was spotting for our sniper DanDman who did locate your OP right off the bat, and we called back to halt progress until we could formulate a plan to take it out with minimal casualties. However, while we were deliberating, we were horrified that the rest of green was hot behind us, so we had to drive the rover into the house-sized bunker and cut the engine while piles of green guys were walking by -within feet- watching our positions but making no sign that they realized we were there. I remember being behind a tree hiding from your OP but in full view of the three squads of green that were walking by watching our position. I hardly even breathed; and man was my heart pounding!
In short time the green squads had filled up the ridge above us and our sniper began to engage the forward OP, then people on the ridge and then our cover was blown and we had to move forward. We knew we didn’t clear that OP but guys were coming down the hill so fast- many with red rags on and not being dragged, some respawning in very short intervals without medics- and we were quickly overwhelmed, thus the use of the rover as moving cover.
Your assessment of causing us casualties is spot on- we were doused with fire from your OP and it took at least 75% of us out if not more.
Due to the repawning confusion the game was held, the rules re-explained and everyone was on the same page. Once we rebooted the game, the rest of the day was phenomenal.
